Future of Social Media

I believe that social media will continue to grow and expand in the future. Within the years these websites have existed they have already grown exponentially and gone through multiple changes, especially one of the most popular ones, Facebook. It has changed and been updated countless times since I have been using it, I can’t even remember what it looked it like when I first became a user. Now Facebook has added features such as “check in” and tags the location of where we are when posting things.. Creepy? I think so. I don’t see this being taken off Facebook anytime soon. Since many children now seem to have blackberry’s, iPad’s and iPhone’s at 10 years old, I think within in the upcoming years, elementary kids should be taught how to use these websites to their maximum potential but also how to protect their accounts. Also Facebook has added features like video chats, and apps for smart phones dedicated to just Facebook chat. Many social media websites now have apps for smartphones too, making them simple to access at all times. Furthermore, I believe that in the future Skype and other video chat sources will be used more in educational institutions for lectures as well as in the business world. Many businesses have employees around the world working for the same company, using a video calling website would make meetings directed towards all staff much easier.
Coming soon will be web 3.0 which will offer personalized search engines. They will remember past searches to help make finding information simpler and bring commonly used websites by the user.  Also more user reviews and blog posts will be brought up when using search engines. However I think that it could get almost too personal so and increase in privacy protection may be necessary in the future.
